Welcome to our October 2008 newsletter. I hope you have had a great summer.
I spent some time in August visiting galleries here on the west coast ó thanks to all of you who came out for the events in Oregon and California. It was a pleasure to catch up with old friends, and to meet people who are new to my work. I received so much good feedback from everyone.
Back in the studio, Iíve been concentrating on new landscape paintings being featured in a show later this month in San Francisco. Look for them on the website soon. Much of the work was inspired by the landscape here in Northern California where I spend many hours in contemplation.
A quote of Norman McLean's, from his book A River Runs Through It, has also influenced my direction with this work:
"All there is to thinking, is seeing something noticeable which makes you see something you werenít noticing which makes you see something that isnít even visible."
Many of you are asking for more animal paintings. I hope to have more available in the new year. In the meantime, this piece, The Thicket, is currently available at Lahaina Galleries.
As always, if you're in the SF Bay Area and want to visit the studio, please contact us.
Thank you for your support and I wish you a happy holiday season!
